Description General Objectives: Operate production equipment associated with the process. Follow written and verbal instructions to ensure production and quality targets are being met. Conduct production activities in accordance with training that has been received. Frequently communicate results. * Duties: Responsible for maintaining a food safe environment which includes personal behaviors, proper sanitation and maintenance of food handling systems. * Sets up, operates, monitors and cleans the process equipment to achieve production, yield and quality targets. * Maintain a clean and organized workstation. * Perform routine basic maintenance on process equipment * Relieve other production team members for breaks and absences as required * Adheres to attendance and break time policies. * On the floor, ready to work at the start of the shift (top of the hour) * Troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate operating difficulties involving area equipment * Accurately prepares and maintains all area paperwork * Work with Management team to monitor the operational efficiencies, yields, scrap loss and other key indicators to actively seek ways to improve plant productivity Safety Follows all plant safety rules, takes initiative to stay current on safe procedures. Reports all accidents to the Lead Operator and Production Supervisor Takes part in post accident incident reviews Serves an active role in the plant safety program by attending safety meetings, participating in monthly safety inspections and reporting any potential safety hazards to the safety committee or Management team Quality: Follows and promotes adherence to GMP guidelines. Adheres to all Quality Assurance System guidelines Learns and follows SOP's for production, maintenance and quality processes. Responsible for compliance with the HACCP program * Responsible for accurate documentation * Perform a variety of in process quality checks to assure standards are met Housekeeping Maintain a clean and organized work area Cooperates with other shifts and the management team in housekeeping and 6S endeavors Communications In conjunction with Lead Operator, ensures the effective transfer of production activities to the oncoming shift Maintains effective communication with members of the various support groups Stays in close contact with Lead Operator and Supervisor regarding all manner of personal or professional situations which may affect job performance. Personal Development, Teamwork and Training Promotes and contributes to the development of teamwork among team members Assist in coaching and training others as requested by the Lead Operator or Production Supervisor Take part in cross training activities. All employees are expected to reasonably maintain and operate all production processes within the department. Take part in other opportunities as they occur such as Safety Committee, training at other facilities, etc. .
