Description

The Batch House position is responsible for operating the Batch House Ovens using the appropriate cycle times, using scale to weigh racks of product, setting up the smoke generator, using process to verify temperature of product.

Principal Accountabilities

Accountable for weighing in the racks and entering those weights into the computer. From there, the operator loads the houses and performs other procedures listed below.

Education, Experience, Skills

  • Read, write and speak English for reasons including:

  • Fill out tickets to be placed on the racks

  • Use basic math on the computer when using the scales; calculators are provided

  • Fill out Batch House Smokehouse Sheet for each house of product smoked.

  • Operate scan gun correctly

  • Physical Requirements:

  • Pushing full racks weighing between 600-800 pounds

  • Able to lift 50 pounds

  • This position is required to go through chemical training with supervisor or another designated trainer. Cleaning of the Smoke House is included the daily tasks of this job and the employee must know the proper chemical mixes and how much to use to prevent an incident from occurring.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Basic math ability (Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division)

  • Basic computer skills

  • Must have a valid driver’s license

  • Forklift License and able to drive a stand-up lift

  • Availability to work outside of normal shift up to including weekend and off shift hours as needed.

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship

  • Must be 18 years or older

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous food manufacturing experience.

  • Previous leadership experience.

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

  • Production experience

  • Work history in the last 12 months
